History

SINCE 1918!

In 1918 C. Klijsen start as an independent shoemaker in the shed behind the house in Kaatsheuvel, a small town in the south of the Netherlands. This area is the main area for tanneries and shoemanufacturers.

His son H.L. Klijsen (1900-1957) made the step producing a collection in series and rebuild the shed into a small factory. After the second world war the numbers grew and we specialized in ladies comfort shoes, also semi-orthopedic.

Kees Klijsen, the third generation director and designer, started combining this knowledge with simple and pure design in the early 70`s. This was the start of what the Loints of Holland are today. In 1986 we first presented our "Turbo's , still a very important group in our collection today because they are so unique and timeless.
